Remove the money boxes from the gaming machines, replaces them with empty ones, balances the money at the end of shift, and compares and verifies information contained in drop boxes on a daily basis. Count and verify gaming and related items as needed along with cash, coinage, and chips, if applicable. The successful candidate will possess the ability to manage the organization’s governance needs, which include board meeting, timely and efficient communications with the ASEDA Board Members, and the AST Executive Committee, and all of the necessary documentation that is required to support a professional economic development operation. He or she will demonstrate the polish and professionalism to operate effectively among a diverse constituency, the ability to understand and work with the Tribal leadership, being respectful of the culture of the AST, and be responsive to the ASEDA Board of Directors, along with the AST’s Executive Committee. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker and creative problem solver with the ability to identify objectives, determine plans to meet those objectives, and lead the organization in achieving them. Grant writing and land planning experience is a plus. With the assistance of the ASEDA Board, and an outside consultant, the successful candidate will develop a long range plan of work that the ASEDA Board and Absentee Shawnee Tribe will be supportive of. The position requires a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Candidates must also have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience working in public or private sector economic development. Having proven Tribal experience is a plus. A Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) designation is desirable. The degree requirements may be waived if a candidate has additional years of experience in the economic development field, with a CEcD designation and a minimum of a high school diploma.
