General Description
Investigative Agents conduct background investigations to obtain confidential information regarding potential Golden Mesa Casino employees, Gaming Commission employees, and Golden Mesa Casino Vendors. Agents determine suitability and make recommendations for issuing all gaming licenses. All licensing is performed in accordance with the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), Shawnee Tribe Gaming Ordinance, Federal and Tribal Laws, the Oklahoma State Compact, and STGC Standard Operating Procedures.

Qualifications

• A minimum of six (6) months gaming experience
• Experience in law enforcement, or as a paralegal, or in a related field in which civil and criminal investigations are conducted and prosecuted/tried in a quasi-judicial system
• Associated Degree
• Must maintain a professional attitude and appearance that positively represents the Tribe
• Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
• Requires a high level of problem-solving skills
• Must maintain confidentiality at all times
• Requires ability to use Microsoft Office Suite programs
• Requires good interpersonal communication and team work skills
• Requires willingness and ability to learn new skills, including travel to conferences and training sessions
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
• Must have a clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
• Must be able to obtain a Shawnee Tribe Gaming License

Duties & Responsibilities

• Write investigative reports for submission to the NIGC
• Submission of completed investigative reports on each background check to the NIGC subsequent to authorization by the Licensing Manager
• Responsible for fingerprinting gaming license applicants
• Maintain compliance of IGRA as it relates to fingerprinting, background checks and applications for licenses for license that require information be gathered for the Shawnee Gaming Commission and NIGC
• Required to investigate criminal history and other background information on primary management officials, key employees, restricted employees and vendors
• Examine gaming license for completeness
• Submit fingerprints information to proper authorities
• Submit licensing recommendations to Licensing Manager based on background investigation
• Work closely with the Gaming Facility Human Resource Department
• Establish and maintain a database containing licensee information
• Printing Licenses and badges as required
• Perform all other duties as assigned

The Commission must comply with all requirements and provisions of Subpart D, of 43CFR, Part 2, which implements the Privacy Act (5 USC 552a) (i)(l).

Drug-Free Workplace Policy:
As a condition of employment, appointees must consent to drug testing and abide by the Drug-Free Workplace policy while employed by the Shawnee Tribe of Oklahoma.

Indian Preference Policy:
Tribal Indian preference will be observed in the filling of this position. and in accordance with Indian Preference Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC, Section 472)
