The recent Sooner Survey conducted by Cole, Hargrave, Snodgrass & Associates found that 80 percent of Oklahomans believe that Tribes and Tribal governments are good for Oklahoma, the highest percentage of support ever recorded on this question. In 2002, the same question elicited 53 percent support. The biggest group of those who agreed with that sentiment cited their positive impact on the economy.
The survey also found that 82 percent of Oklahomans want the state to cooperate with Tribal nations to improve the state. This support is bipartisan, with 73 percent of Republicans, 94 percent of Democrats, and 91 percent of Independents..
