Despite a recent federal court ruling concerning the Seminole Tribe of Florida that may elicit an expansion of Tribal gaming opportunities nationwide, Tribes in Oklahoma still must reach an agreement on what that looks like with the state.
“Hopefully we can get that worked out pretty soon,” said John Sparks, Cherokee Nation Gaming Commission Chair, during a conference earlier this year. “You know what they say, ‘sometimes you have to have a funeral to change the carpet in the church’.”
